Dalit houses torched, Ambedkar statue desecrated in MP – Times of India

भोपाल: एमपी के विजयपुर में चुनाव संबंधी हिंसा जारी है. मतदान के कुछ घंटों बाद, भीड़ ने गोहटा गांव में एक दलित बस्ती पर हमला किया और बुधवार देर रात कथित तौर पर चार घरों में आग लगा दी। स्थानीय लोगों ने बताया कि करीब 200 की संख्या में हमलावरों ने पथराव किया और घरों को जला दिया तथा एक ट्रांसफार्मर को आग लगा दी। उन्होंने बाबासाहेब अम्बेडकर की एक मूर्ति का भी अपमान किया।
श्योपुर एसपी वीरेंद्र जैन पत्रकारों को बताया कि पुलिस को दो पक्षों के बीच विवाद की सूचना मिली थी. घटनास्थल पर पहुंचने पर, अधिकारियों को बाजरे की भूसी का ढेर जलकर राख हुआ मिला। कोई औपचारिक शिकायत नहीं की गई है, और किसी के घायल होने की सूचना नहीं है। एक अन्य अधिकारी ने इस घटना को अधिक तवज्जो नहीं देते हुए कहा कि चुनाव के दौरान इस तरह के तनाव आम हैं और जोर देकर कहा कि ‘कोई महत्वपूर्ण गड़बड़ी’ नहीं हुई। उन्होंने कहा कि औपचारिक शिकायत मिलने पर ही कार्रवाई की जाएगी। गुरुवार रात तक कोई गिरफ्तारी नहीं हुई.
कांग्रेस प्रदेश अध्यक्ष जीतू पटवारी ने बीजेपी कार्यकर्ताओं पर आदिवासी और दलित समुदाय पर हमला करने का आरोप लगाया. भाजपा के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष वीडी शर्मा ने पटवारी के आरोपों को खारिज करते हुए कहा, “जब कांग्रेस चुनाव जीतती है, तो वे राहुल गांधी के सिर पर पगड़ी बांधते हैं। और जब उन्हें पता चलता है कि वे हार रहे हैं तो वे गुंडागर्दी और आगजनी पर उतर आते हैं। वे प्रशासन और ईवीएम को दोष देना शुरू कर देते हैं।
